Albon have created a dedicated connecting rod operation with 250,000
sq.ft of production facility and 19,000 sq.ft of prototype
manufacturing facility supported by a design team using Pro-E
modelling software and Pro-Mechanical analysis software.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) allows highly stressed engine components
to be investigated for load and fatigue resistance whilst still
existing only as a software model. However, for FEA to be considered
absolute, an extensive material database needs to be complied and
crossed referenced against physical testing techniques. |
